1.30 p.m. Just killing time until flat check and then I think I’ll sleep for a couple of hours. The emotional roller-coaster ride that was; witch’s first call – panic, followed by support group – anxiety, and a quick bout of depression thrown for good measure has really drained me.
Flat check, incidentally, is a part of the daily routine at the hostel. Once a day, usually around 2.00 p.m., a member of staff checks in on all the rooms and tenants. I think it’s to make sure that you’re not hanging from a rope.
