10 Facts about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice

Batman v Superman, Dawn of Justice, Batman Vs Superman, Batman, Superman
As DC prepares to take on the Mighty Marvel and launch into a series of movies that will expand the DC cinematic universe, our first taster of things to come will be the upcoming movie Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which is due for release in March 2016. Even though filming is said to have been completed, little is known about the Batman v Superman movie, but here are ten things about Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that we do know at the moment.

1. The ever-moving release date of Batman v Superman
Why, you might ask, is the move taking so long to release when filming was completed in December 2014? Originally, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was going to be released in July 2015 but, apparently, the filmmakers needed time to "time to realize fully their vision”. The release date was then put back again so as to avoid clashing with the release date of Captain America: Civil War, though, of course, Warner Bros deny that.

2. Location shooting was moved from Morocco because of fears about Ebola
Originally, it was planned that a lot of the filming would be done in Morocco, but following the outbreak of Ebola in West Africa, production of the movie was relocated to New Mexico. A lot of the film was also shot in Michigan.

3. The plot of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice remains a mystery
Although a teaser trailer for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice has been released, the plot remains a mystery. The basic plot is pretty obvious from the title of the movie and the trailer and it looks like Batman is going to be taking on The Man of Steel who is seen as an alien threat rather than a superhero.

4. Wonder Woman is in it
Without a plot synopsis from Warner Bros, it is impossible to see how all the various characters will get involved in this blockbuster, but one of those characters will definitely be Wonder Woman. Princess Diana of Themyscira, now a Goddess and the daughter of Zeus, will be played by former Miss Israel, Gal Gadot.

Aquaman, Batman v Superman, Dawn of Justice, Batman Vs Superman, Batman, Superman5. Aquaman makes an appearance too
Aquaman will also be in the Batman v Superman movie, but, he won’t be wearing his traditional orange and green wetsuit. His outfit looks more like armour with shades of black, gold and silver and he has tattoos too. They are going to have to do a lot, to get Raj, out of The Big Bang, saying “Aquaman sucks” out of my head though!

 6. The concept for the movies is 14 years old
Apparently, despite claims by director Zack Snyder, that he came up with the idea of a Batman v Superman movie, screenwriter Akiva Goldsman first suggested the idea to Warner Bros in 2001. The concept has been under consideration ever since then.

7. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is a warm-up for Justice League of America movies
Let’s face it, following the massive success that Marvel have seen with The Avengers, it could only be a matter of time before DC tried their luck with a series of Justice League of America movies. With the introduction here of Wonder Woman and Aquaman, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is obviously a warm-up for the Justice League of America movies.

8. Why it’s “v” and not “Vs”
Allegedly, the use of “v” in the title, rather than “Vs”, is intentional.  Director Zack Snyder has said that the movie is not just about the confrontation between Superman and Batman. I’m not sure that most people will actually notice something as subtle as that Zack, nor will they will be worried about it anyway!

New Batmobile, Batman v Superman, Dawn of Justice, Batman Vs Superman, Batman, Superman9. The new Batmobile has guns!
Rather going against Batman’s dislike of killing, the new Batmobile that will be featured in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice appears to have a gun turret on the front. Then again, perhaps all will be revealed in the movie and it will turn out to be a water cannon, or, perhaps, a little flag will pop out of the end with the word “Bang!” printed on it.

10. Cyborg will also appear
Again, no one can tell yet what his role in the movie will be yet, but Cyborg will be another of the DC characters making his debut on the big screen and he too has own solo movie coming soon.
