Ashworth & Bird – Hugo Boss and Much, Much More

Ashworth and Bird, Hugo Boss

Ashworth and Bird are a fashion retail group with a long heritage. But, unlike many traditional clothing stores with a long history, Ashworth and Bird has moved with the times. It began as a family owed menswear store. But, it has now morphed into a designer clothing store for the whole family. The brand has also embraced technology. You can now buy a full range of designer gear, including Armani Jeans, Barbour, Belstaff, and Hugo Boss, online at the Ashworth and Bird online store. With over 75 years of heritage, Ashworth and Bird are still going strong. Here’s the lowdown on this wonderfully traditional, but very modern clothing retail store.

Made in Barnsley

The forerunner of the modern Ashford and Bird was Frank Bird Menswear. It was a traditional menswear store founded by the owner, Frank Bird, in 1939. Situated in Barnsley, in the North of England, the store was opened just before the outbreak of the Second World War. Frank Bird’s aim was to source the very best in menswear from Europe during what was a very difficult time.

from the early days, Frank Bird’s commitment to style and quality paid off. The store was later managed by Frank bird’s son Malcolm, who ran what had grown to a two-store chain with his sister. In 2013, Malcom Bird retired. The business was sold to Jersey based Richard Clews, and the stores were rebranded as Ashford and Bird.

Ashworth & Bird – Designer Labels and Custom Tailoring

Today, Ashworth and Bird have stores in Barnsley, Reigate, Wakefield, Woking and St. Helier in Jersey. There is also a flourishing online store. As well as stocking designer labels like Hugo Boss, CP Company, and Hardy Amies, Ashworth and Bird also have a thriving custom-made tailoring service too.

Ashworth and Bird is a unique style of clothing retail store. It’s a mixture of old-style traditional values and the latest styles and fashions. The store still holds true to Frank Bird’s values. Every item must pass exacting style tests before it will be stocked. This is no designer brand clearance store, this a traditional, high-quality clothing store. Quality, style and customer service are as important to Ashworth and Bird as they were 75 years ago.

The custom tailoring service is available in the Jersey, Reigate, Barnsley, Wakefield and Woking stores. The service is a true bespoke men’s tailoring service. You can have a made-to-measure men’s suit made of the finest Italian fabrics made in-house by Ashworth and Bird’s own tailors. The stores also offer a traditional formal wear hire service for those special events.

Ashworth and Bird – Old Style Customers Service and Big Designer Brands

So, if you are a discerning shopper who likes your designer brands served up with a large dose of traditional customer service, take a trip to an Ashworth and Bird Store, or visit them online. It’s a store where you can buy all the latest Hugo Boss pieces, have a made-to-measure suit made for you, or hire a dinner jacket for a special event. It’s one of the few clothing retail stores still in existence that gets the balance of traditional values and modernity just right.
